Jung-Chih Chiao, an Electrical Engineering professor at University of Texas in Arlington, had an idea to create Micro Windmills. He came up with this idea while thinking of ways to best contain energy the wind created through the night. The Micro Windmills are so small ten of them could fit on a grain of rice. Despite the small size, the Micro Windmills can withstand very strong winds because it is made up of very strong and flexible nickle. So many of these Micro Windmills can be made with a single slice of nickle meaning these Micro Windmills can be produced and sold cheaply. Chiao is now talking with a Taiwanese manufacturer WinMems Technologies Co., about putting Micro Windmills on the market. That means that soon we may be the owners of windmill chargers!
